Telugu superstar Jr NTR is fighting back. The actor approached the Delhi High Court on Monday. He sought urgent protection against the misuse of his name, image, and other personal attributes on social media and e-commerce platforms. The court has asked the platforms to respond within three days sending a strong message about the protection of celebrity rights in the digital age.
Petition filed in Delhi High Court
Jr NTR’s legal team led by senior advocate J Sai Deepak informed the court that multiple online platforms were using the actor’s identity. They have been doing so without consent primarily for commercial purposes.

“These websites and apps are displaying content that violates Jr NTR’s personality rights,” Deepak told the court.
Justice Manmeet Pritam Singh heard the matter in the court. He directed the platforms to treat the petition as a formal complaint. This comes under the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021. The companies have been given three days to respond. The case will be revisited on December 22 when a detailed order is expected.
This is not an isolated instance. Several Indian celebrities, including Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Nagarjuna, Anil Kapoor, Abhishek Bachchan, and Chiranjeevi, have previously approached courts to tackle the unauthorised use of their images and identities online.
